Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site

If you love camping, glamping or staying in one of our luxury holidays lodges with hot tub here at Longnor Wood why not visit our sister Scottish campsite, rated 5-star by Visit Scotland?

Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site on the shores of the Firth of Forth

If you are one of our many returning guests you may be interested to learn that Longnor Wood has a sister campsite in East Lothian, just 10 miles from Edinburgh? At Drummohr Camping & Glamping Site you can enjoy the best of both worlds, with Edinburgh city being easily accessible by either bus or train and the East Lothian beaches and golf courses being just a short drive. Drummohr is open all year round and is in a great location for those wanting to visit the Edinburgh Christmas markets or enjoy Hogmanay in the Scottish capital.

Drummohr is dog-friendly, with a dog walk on site. Drummohr is not adults-only and welcomes families as well as couples but we do operate a quiet site policy after 10.30pm and do not allow group bookings. You can be assured of the same passionate and warm welcome as you get from Sam, James, Ian and the team at Longnor from the Site Manager Angie and her team wardens at Drummohr.

Located in the grounds of an old monastery, this tree circled 5-star site, with glimmers of the Firth of Forth through the trees, has plenty of space for touring caravans, camper vans and motorhomes as well as plenty of large grassed areas for tent campers. A range of glamping pods and bothies, some with en-suite WC, offer a value alternative to camping for those looking for glamping near Edinburgh. Completing the site are our 2 and 3-bedroomed superior Scottish holiday lodges (some with hot tub) and a luxury self-catering cottage with hot tub. The site has free parking and WiFi, a small shop, laundry, children’s playground and Information Point.

Located close to the shores of the Firth of Forth, just outside Musselburgh, and with excellent public transport links, Drummohr is an ideal base for both a city break to Edinburgh and a visit to the coastline and countryside of East Lothian. With over 20 golf courses to choose from in the local area, Drummohr would also make a good base for a Scottish golfing break. The long-distance route, the John Muir Way, is located close by and the site welcomes backpackers, walkers and cyclists.

Regular buses and a local train service mean that it is easy to visit the sites and attractions of Edinburgh whilst staying at Drummohr. Edinburgh Zoo, Edinburgh Castle and the numerous museums, make Edinburgh a perfect destination. Blessed with events such as the Edinburgh Tattoo, Edinburgh Fringe or Edinburgh International Festival, as well as the famous Hogmanay celebrations and Edinburgh Christmas markets, Edinburgh is a vibrant city no matter what the time of year. East Lothian is blessed with numerous sandy beaches, picturesque harbours, seaside towns like Dunbar and North Berwick, dramatic coastline, nature reserves, golf courses, fine castles and stately homes.
